Moravian Library Brno decides for SCAN MASTER 0 4838 with Book Spine Assit

The Moravian Gallery in Brno is the second largest art museum in the Czech Republic. For digitizing their content including problematic books a high resolution large format book scanners was required. They chose the SCAN MASTER 0 4838 with Book Spine Assist feature. It allows to scan books with either a very instabile or a very tough book fold. The additional lifting column supports the center of the book during the scanning process. SMA is the only vendor in the market that offers such a feature.

Myanmar invests in robotic book scanning

A government entity in Myanmar that we are not allowed to name in detail was looking for a highly productive solution to digitize their archive. They bought two ROBO SCAN V2. The books are being digitized robotically and gentle in a v-shaped position. Very problematic and fragile books can be scanned manually by simply disabling the robotic function. At the tip of your fingers the ROBO SCAN V2 can be utilized as a manual book scanner.

DIAMO extends their SMA portfolio with VERSASCAN 4870

The state enterprise DIAMO is an organisation dealing with eliminating the consequences of uranium, ore and coal mining activities in the Czech Republic. Their archives contains a huge collection of mining maps which exceed standard sizes. For digitizing those oversize maps the only sensible choice was the SMA VERSASCAN 4870. With its large scanning bed of double A0 it allows to scan most of their originals in one single step. In total they own now three SMA flatbed scanners.

National Archive of Korea buys VERSASCAN 3650

The National Archive of Korea required a suitable scanner to digitize their large format collection such as different types of maps, drawings and artwork. It was important for them to acquire a system that goes easy on the originals, has a high optical resolution, a precise geometric accuracy and scans true to the scale. The decision was made in favor of the most successful and best selling A0 flatbed scanner in the world – the SMA VERSASCAN 3650! In addition to all the great features the VERSASCAN 3650 is a highly productive scanner that is able to handle large volumes within an acceptable time frame whereas other scanners are significantly slower.

National Library of Jamaica purchases SCAN MASTER 0 3650

The National Library of Jamaica was looking for a suitable scanner to digitize their content. Since they have very different originals an extremely versatile scanner was required. The highly reputed SCAN MASTER 0 3650 could meet all the requirements. In August 2019, during IFLA in Athens, the responsible people could familiarize themselves with the outstanding image quality, the unique illuminating concept, the ergonomics and productivity of the SCAN MASTER 0 3650 scanner. City Archive Bratislava buys VERSASCAN 4870

The Archives of the City of Bratislava own a very valuable and rare collection of historical maps, architectural maps, maps of the flow of the Danube river, maps of the world and military maps from the middle age until present. In order to protect them and scan them carefully only a gentle flatbed scanner approach with IR/UV free cold light illuminator could quality for the project. We are very proud that the VERSASCAN 3650 was chosen for this task!

Forest Authority Saxony counts on SMA

The Forest Authority Saxony is responsible for counseling private and corporative forest owners, to cultivate the woods of Saxony, is the highest forestry and hunting authority of the state and in charge for everything related to conversation areas, silviculture and general forestry. We are happy to announce that this major authority decided to purchase a VERSASCAN 3650 to digitize their filed plans, land register maps and other large originals. In order to offer a most ergonomic work station they opted for the version with motorized height adjustment.

National Archive Abu Dhabi buys VERSASCAN 36100, SMA 51 8K and Varioflott

SMA is proud to announce that the National Archive of Abu Dhabi has been equipped with several SMA products. The main issue was to find a solution to digitize extremely large historical maps in a very gentle way. The product of choice is the VERSASCAN 36100 which allows to capture documents up to 2.5 meters length in one scan. Afterwards the digital files will be archived on microfilm for long-term preservation. For this purpose the customer acquired the newly designed SMA 51 8K Archive Writer. Due to its superb quality and very high resolution it is possible to properly archive those large originals without any loss of information. The microfilm gets developed in the well know microfilm processor Varioflott.
